Location of car fuse box

The car fuse box usually has two positions.

A driver is usually responsible for the normal operation of external electrical components such as ECU, windshield washer, headlights, horn, ABS, etc. in the engine compartment.

The other one is located on the left side of the steering wheel or inside the glove compartment, mainly responsible for the normal operation of the car’s electrical appliances such as cigarette lighters, window lifters, electric seats, and airbags.

The position of the fuse box in the engine compartment may vary depending on the vehicle model, some on the left and some on the right. However, it is usually designed on both sides of the engine compartment for easy and timely replacement.

Some car models have an example diagram inside the fuse box to identify the electronic device responsible for each fuse. By referring to this diagram, the corresponding position can be found. If there are no pictures, you can refer to the vehicle manual.

There are different types and specifications of car fuses. For example, the common plug-in fuse specifications are generally 2A to 40A amperes, and the value will be marked at the top of the fuse. It can also be determined by color that 2A is gray, 3A is purple, 5A is orange, 7.5A is coffee, 10A is red, 15A is blue, 20A is yellow, 25A is colorless and transparent, 30A is green, 35A is light purple, 40A is dark orange.

Fuses are crucial for automotive circuits, as they provide protection when the circuit current is abnormal or exceeds twice its rated current. So if any part of the car is not functioning properly, don’t easily ignore it and check if there is a problem with the fuse in a timely manner.
