1、 Fuse position
Inside the battery box: Most electric vehicle fuses are installed inside the battery box to protect the battery pack and connected circuits from damage caused by overcurrent.
External Battery Box: Some electric vehicles are designed with the fuse holder located outside the battery box for easy inspection and replacement. These fuse holders are usually labeled with the word “FUSE” and can be rotated counterclockwise to check if the fuse is blown.
2、 The function of fuses
Overload protection: The main function of a fuse is to melt itself to cut off the current when the current in the circuit abnormally rises to a certain height and heat, thereby protecting the circuit and its connected equipment from damage.
Circuit safety: In electric vehicles, the presence of fuses effectively prevents overcurrent caused by battery pack short circuits, motor failures, and other reasons, protecting the safe operation of the entire vehicle circuit.
Historical development: The concept of fuses was first proposed by Edison to protect expensive incandescent lamps at that time. With the development of technology, fuses have become an indispensable protective component in various power equipment.
